The
goal of the Hall of Fame is to
honor athletes, builders,
championship teams, and volunteers who significantly contributed to the
sport programs in the City and County of Wetaskiwin.
The Nomination Process
The
nomination process is a democratic and broad means of determining from
the public or community as a whole which individuals, teams or
organizations should be recognized for outstanding achievements in sport
or distinguished service toward the development of sport.
Nominations
for induction can be made by anyone, using the appropriate form that is
made available through the Wetaskiwin and County Sports Hall of Fame.
Completed
nomination forms may be submitted to the Wetaskiwin and
County Sports Hall of Fame. Deadline for submissions is
October 30th annually.
Each year new nominations are
received to supplement the pre-existing nominations on file.
The Sports
Hall's Selection Committee will review all nominations and select
inductees based on the criteria and merit. The number of inductees to be elected is
determined annually by the Board of Directors.
The winners in each of the categories will be
honoured at the
annual induction dinner held each March.
