Honouring their Achievements - Telling their Stories 

120 years of exciting sporting history and rich tradition is revealed through the stories of our Change-Makers, Legends of Sport, and Home-Grown Heroes who have been awarded some of the world's highest sporting honors.  Explore the experiences of Wetaskiwin and County's sporting greats dating back to 1904, view photos and videos, and reach back in time to look at their trophies, memorabilia and tools of their trade. 

Since 2006 the Wetaskiwin and County Sports Hall of Fame has inducted ​35 Athletes, ​25 Builders, ​10 Athlete Builders, ​8 Special Awards, and ​17 Teams that included 427 individuals.  That's 523 sports stories and successes underscored by:

The Wetaskiwin and County Sports Hall of Fame recognizes and celebrates  the remarkable men and women whose sporting deeds inspired and helped shape our community and its sporting spirit.  Their performances and most memorable moments made them champions in their sport and leaders in life. 

Their sport and their passion form an integral chapter in our history, unite us,  and have been instrumental in developing the character of our community.

Our inductees displayed exceptional determination, commitment, and loyalty in contributing to the record of sporting achievements in the County and City of Wetaskiwin.

Sport is not just enthralling and entertaining. The intrinsic value of sport lies in the fact that we are able to recognize that at any given moment in our lives, we can share one cause, one thought, one love.  

Sport unites us in entertainment, in achieving, in excelling, in changing attitudes.  Sport transcends the barriers of politics, language, or different backgrounds to give us heroes and villains, underdogs and favourites, as well as dreams both realized and broken.
